Aloha from the May-Murphy "Extreme Oceanfront" condo in Poipu, Kauai, HI!

Our little bit of paradise is a top-floor condo, perched on a beautiful grass lawn above the oceanfront cliffs. This 2 bedroom/2 bath condo is so family friendly, from the location (a block to the beach, along an oceanfront path) to the amenities (we even have a wagon - and coolers and sand toys you'll want to bring to the beach)!

Enjoy a lovely getaway with great sunshine, beaches, food, snorkeling, body surfing, golfing, hiking, kayaking, and great value.

Our "EXTREME OCEANFRONT" condo has 180* ocean views - on high surf or breezy days, the windows get some spray from the waves crashing on the cliffs below your window. In the morning, sit on the private lanai and watch the green sea turtles playing in the water just off the cliffs. In the winter, watch the humpback whales spout and breech from the lanai.

Our place is on the top (4th) floor, accessible by elevator or stairs. It has 2 en-suite bedrooms, plus a kitchen, dining room, living room, lanai, and washer-dryer.

The building has a beautiful pool suspended over the cliffs, with lounge chairs plus dining tables - we love having a BBQ dinner poolside. The building also has a bonus room for kids or grownups, a big grassy lawn on the oceanfront cliffs, and 3 new BBQs. The on-site manager's office is open daily to assist guests.

Poipu Shores is located on the southern tip of Kauai, and we have some of the best views of the sunset on the island. You can watch the sunset from the lawn, the pool, or the lanai (aka our private porch). Or all three.

We have been coming to Poipu Shores since we were little girls, and we inherited the condo from our father in the spring of 2011. We have just finished Stage 1 of our remodel, and we are delighted with how it looks!

From the condo, it's a short 5-minute minutes down an oceanfront path to Brennecke's Beach for fun boogie boarding and body surfing - even our preschoolers love it!

Walk another 3 minutes across the grass, past the playground, to Poipu Beach, one of the greatest beaches for kids to snorkel and explore. There is a snack, & activities shop right there with Brennecke's Restaurant upstairs. Next door is a surf shop.

You can walk to a few other restaurants, and there are several golf courses, farmers markets, shopping, and a world-class restaurant (the Beach House) within a 10-min drive. If you want to drive to the N Shore, you can take an amazing hike along the Na Pali Cliffs, where Kelly and Ted got engaged.

You can also take a boat ride, a helicopter ride over the wettest spot on earth (old volcano - millions of waterfalls), a hike up Waimea Canyon, kayaking trips, or just enjoy the beach. You can do so much, or do nothing at all. Can you tell we love it there??

We have prepared "the sister's guide to the island", which we are happy to share with our guests. It covers some of our favorite things to do on the island for families and couples staying on the south side.

Ocean Bedroom: New hardwood bedroom furniture and linens for queen bed, new ipod docking station/alarm clock. Bathroom en suite.

Garden Room: New hardwood furniture and linens for 2 twin beds, with ipod docking station/alarm clock. The second bedroom, bathroom and laundry can all be closed off from the living areas for privacy.

Kitchen features new handmade, hardwood kitchen cabinets with stainless steel hardware and a new dishwasher. The fully-appointed kitchen now includes crystal wine glasses, Henkels steak knives, a coffee bean grinder, and other nice touches.

Living room/dining room with new flat-screen HDTV, HD recorder, and Blu-Ray player, plus a new custom hardwood media cabinet with books, DVDs, and games for adults and children.

Oceanfront "lanai" (porch) with new Crate & Barrel furniture.

Soft-sided wagon, hard- and soft-sided coolers, boogie boards, sand toys, noodles, beach towels and more available for guest use.
